#SECTUR.- At the head of the Third Ordinary Session 2022 of the Technical Committee of the National Fund for the Promotion of Tourism (FONATUR), in his capacity as president, the head of the Ministry of Tourism (SECTUR) emphasized that through inter-institutional work, mechanisms are achieved that promote the sector, and in turn the development and economic spillover for the benefit of the communities.

During the meeting, among other topics, several proposals were made to promote investment in Integrally Planned Centers (CIP), with responsible management that allows for a balance between tourism activity and environmental protection, as well as putting an end to tourist paradises with belts of marginalization.

In this sense, he highlighted the strategy to detonate the activity in Playa Espiritu, in the state of Sinaloa, which, through National Lottery raffles, has raffled lots in this CIP, with the purpose of favoring its development and, at the same time, contributing to the wellbeing of the population of the surrounding areas.

Mr. Torruco Marqués said that programs such as Operation Knock on Doors not only promote the arrival of international tourists to Mexico, but also air connectivity and investment, by holding meetings with industry leaders in Mexico’s main outbound markets.

He pointed out that these working tours are attended by state tourism secretaries and the presidents of the sector’s main chambers and associations, who hold meetings in which important agreements are reached in this area.
